Everybody tends to say that a two person have chemistry when they are fit for each other. Its more than just a cliché since chemistry cant really be described, its just the way two persons seem to just click. You know you have chemistry with another person when your knees start shaking everytime you are near her, you begin to stammer, your stomach feels like a haven for butterflies and you get all sweaty all the time. Chemistry could be another word for love but in some cases, the chemistry might be gone but love could still be present. That’s why some people would like to revive the chemistry in their relationship because they still love the person and would like to make the relationship better; like that way it used to be when they fell in love with one another.

The rush one gets when they are in love, it’s like having a triple shot of espresso. It’s like your always high and on top of the world. Your heart is racing everytime your near your partner and you develop powerful feelings that are just constantly nagging for attention, you cant explain what it is, but its there. But after a certain period of time, some relationships get past the chemistry and the momentum wanes, you have gone past the “honeymoon period.” Many have strived to get their chemistry back; here are some tips on how to get your chemistry back.

Chemistry can either be through physical and emotional. Physical chemistry deals with the way we are attracted to our parents on the physical level. In some relationships, the partners tend to be too relaxed and comfortable with their relationship that they have a tendency to let go of their physical looks. When this happens, one partner may lose their physical attraction and their physical chemistry as well. Some cases have shown that physical chemistry may also be about the great sex they have, when this type of physical chemistry is forgotten and the sex becomes too regular and boring, the physical chemistry may be lost. Loss of attention to the physical attributes and to the physical contact is what causes these problems, try to get yourself back in shape and try to look good for your partner, this will show that you don’t take your partner for granted and you still want to look good for them. In regards to sex, try to be adventurous, think up of ways which can spicen up your sexual activities to make them more exciting and adventurous for both of you. This will rekindle the physical chemistry that has decreased over the years.

With emotional chemistry, this could be because we have grown tired with our partner because of the routine becoming too routinely. Refresh your emotional chemistry for each other by taking in a new perspective about each other. Take vacations, act out your fantasies, be open to one another and find a solution on how to bring the sparks back to each other. Try to discover what the both of you want out of the relationship and build on that. Be open to new ideas and never contradict. The less fight the better it is to strengthen the ties that bind you together. If you truly love one another, you will find out and everything in how to get the chemistry back in your relationship.

Koi Pond: Water Chemistry

The most basic conditions of your koi pond water chemistry are the pH factor (which stands for potential Hydrogen) and water hardness. These factors alone can determine the life or death of your koi pond’s inhabitants (I call them the “Fam Fam”).

The pH of the koi pond water is measured on a scale of 1-14, with a reading of 7 considered “neutral.” Any reading above 7 is alkaline; anything below 7 is acidic. Most fish prefer a pH value of 7.2 to 7.6, or just slightly on the alkaline side of the scale. However, koi and goldfish can adjust to gradual changes in pH from as low as 7 to as high as 8.5 and still remain healthy and flourish.

Hardness or buffers in the koi pond water can raise the pH levels. Even though hardness is a separate measure from pH, the two respond to each other chemically. Pure or “distilled” water has a pH of 7 and an absence of buffers or hardness. Neutral pH is unstable, however, and if it has no buffers or hardness, it can quickly drop to the lower (acidic) end of the pH scale – as low as 4.2 to 4.8. At this level of acidity the fish’s gills become burned and eventually become unable to extract oxygen from the water, ultimately suffocating.

]]>

Should the pH in your koi pond ever drop to these levels, never try to raise the pH too quickly. By placing coral gravel, dolomite, or oyster shell gravel in a nylon filter bag inside your filter or directly in the waterfall, moving water can pass through it and the pH will rise to 7.0 or 7.3 in less than two days.

To prevent the drastic fluctuation in hardness buffers affecting pH, you should include one or more of these gravels in your filter system at all times – especially if you are replenishing your pond with soft water. The gravel should be replaced every 9 to 12 months since all the buffers will be leached out by that time. If the buffers are used up and the pH level drops to 6.0 or lower, the nitrifying bacteria that break down the toxic fish waste, ammonia, and nitrite will stop functioning. At a low pH, highly toxic ammonia chemically changes to relatively non-toxic ammonium. If you raise the pH rapidly, the ammonium will also quickly return to ammonia, which could be fatal to your fish.

Please invest in the health of your fish. Purchase a koi pond test kit from any pet or pond store. Invest the time to read the directions and start regularly testing your koi pond. Remember, clear water does not mean clean! As in the water we drink, just because the water looks clear, smells good, and tastes good does not mean it is clean.

Most of the most toxic, cancer-causing priority pollutants listed by the E.P.A are colorless, odorless, and tasteless. Do not ever forget the simple facts: You have a toilet in a separate room of your house. Your scaly friend’s living room is their toilet, and they have to swim in it. Keep it flushed and clean.

If you do not presently have a bio-filter, please purchase one, or at no cost to you, download instructions and a parts list of simple items you can purchase from any home improvement store for less then $65 and build one yourself using an electric drill and a hand saw. download with no oblication or log in required at – http://www.askdoughoover.com

Ever wonder if there was a practical application to chemistry? There are actually many, and here is just one: H2O2.

Since the early part of the 1800′s the chemical combination that is found naturally in spring water and snow, called hydrogen peroxide or H2O2, has been used for its excellent healing properties. Many of us know that hydrogen peroxide is a bleaching agent and will burn the skin when you come into contact with it, which is why many of you will be interested and maybe even shocked to know that you can bathe in it, drink it, and inhale it.

You must make sure that you use the correct form of H2O2 for ingestion purposes otherwise you will have severe reactions like vomiting and headaches. The only form hat is allowed for drinking is the 35 % food grade which must be then diluted in water or Aloe Vera juice until it reaches 3 %. It is recommended however that you start by using 1 drop in a glass of water. It is used to cure illnesses such as reflux, and because it supplies extra oxygen to the body, it can kill cancer cells and the HIV that causes AIDS.

]]>

The drug industry is a multi billion dollar one and obviously they do not want it to leak that they can actually cure these terrible diseases with a natural, inexpensive product hat every one can buy at their local health food store or pharmacy. The other type of H2O2 that you find is 3 %, which is used to also diluted to bathe in or to apply to skin infections like pimples, to clear earwax, and to gargle with. It makes an excellent tooth whitener and will clear up any mouth ulcers and cold sores.

If you have a cold or sinusitis, the 3 % can also be diluted and used as an inhalant. It will probably burn, but will clear your nostrils immediately of any excess mucous. There are many other uses for hydrogen peroxide such as a skin conditioner. It can be mixed with a base cream and is said to provide anti aging benefits. Many athletes use a combination of Aloe Vera gel and hydrogen peroxide to apply to their feet to prevent infections and sores.

It is amazing to know that something you can combine from natural molecules found on the periodic table can cure you of so many illnesses and prevent you from aging. Another form of oxygen that has similar effects and is being used in cancer studies is O3, which is a stronger form of pure oxygen. It counteracts the negative effect that excessive inhalation of carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide gases have on the body.

To maintain your fish tank aquarium and enjoy your fish keeping and ensure that your fish and plants thrive it’s a good idea to know something about water chemistry and how it applies to your hobby. You should have a good water test kit to help in keeping the tank in balance which should include the following tests.

pH
Chlorine and chloramine
Hardness
Ammonia
Nitrite
Nitrate

Definitions

Ammonia – fish produce ammonia as a waste product. It is poisonous and a build up will harm the fish. During the cycling of a new fish tank bacteria are encouraged to grow that convert the ammonia, first to nitrites and then to much less harmful nitrates. Ideally ammonia level should always be zero.

Chlorine and chloramine – Chlorine is used as a tap water disinfectant and needs to be removed before adding tap water to the fish tank. Leaving a bucket of water for 2 days will allow chlorine to evaporate. Chloramine is used in some areas as a water disinfectant and cannot be removed this way. You will need to buy a water treatment chemical specially made for fish tanks to remove chloramine.

]]>

Copper – Copper is harmful to fish and invertebrates and can be present in tap water where it can enter the water you have older pipes. It is also present in many fish medications.

Nitrates – Nitrates are only harmful to the fish at high levels and are produced by the nitrifying bacteria from nitrites which are harmful at much lower levels. The only way to lower the nitrate levels to below the acceptable 20ppm in your fish tank is to do regular partial water changes.

Nitrites – are poisonous and are produced by bacteria from the ammonia excreted by fish. They are then converted to the less harmful nitrates. The nitrite levels in a well cycled fish tank should be zero.

pH – is a measure of the acidity of the water. A neutral solution will have a pH of 7, an acid solution less than 7, a basic solution more than 7. Although different fish prefer different pH levels most fish will be fine over a wide pH range. Some fish prefer a pH as high as 8.5, some as low as 5.5. Unless you have fish with these extreme requirements there is usually no need to adjust the pH of the water.

Phosphate – this chemical can be present in fish food, tap water or from decaying plant material. It is a fertiliser for plants and can cause an algae bloom if the levels are too high. Regular water changes should keep the phosphate at an acceptable level.

Salinity – the concentration of sodium chloride in the water is important if you have a salt water tank and can be measured using a hydrometer.

Hardness – dissolved minerals in the water contribute to the hardness. The main minerals present in tap water that cause hardness are magnesium and calcium and these will be present to a greater extent if you live in a hard water area. It is not really an issue for freshwater tanks unless you live in an area where the water is very soft. For saltwater tanks it is more important as some invertebrates and live corals need these minerals to grow.

Sex,Chocolate and Chemistry

The connection between these three is an amazing one. Sex, or being in love is a natural desire which provides pleasure through releasing many chemicals in our body. Chocolate somewhat manages to do the same and for that reason we hear statements such as “chocolate is better than sex”.  There are an awful lot of similarities of chemical processes between the two, which causes the comparison between love and Chocolate.  Both evoke similar reaction from a human brain as the Chemistry behind them is equivalent. So when people say that “Chocolate is better than Sex” what they mean is that they are not getting any sex so they have to do with the chocolate for providing them with matching pleasure.

Our brain is a very complicated processor and we will take a long time to fully understand and appreciate the complexity of its progressions. It is the main point in our body which receives all the signals from the body and then react to respond to all those signals. These signals are carried to the brain through cells such as neurons. Between these neurons, there is a synaptic cleft which allows passing of the message across through neurotransmitter such as acetyholine, Amino acids and Monoamines such as noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin.

These neurotransmitters are responsible for ensuring that signal passed from one neuron to another neuron is extremely fast. For example if any part of our body is touched, that stimulates the sensory nerve cells to carry information to the brain. If the touch is harmful, the brain will respond by moving that part of the body to avoid any harm. The presence of certain neurotransmitter will cause the signal to travel to brain very fast. If there is anything in synaptic cleft that is blocking the neurotransmitter, the information will be passed across slowly and therefore the signal to, and the response of brain will also be slower.

Therefore whenever there is any activity in the body, whether it is having sex, falling in love or consuming chemicals such as drugs or Chocolates, it is the role of these neurotransmitters that provides our brains with the information and creates pleasure.

When we are in love, our body releases many hormones which stimulate the production of chemicals such as these neurotransmitters and boost pleasure points in our brain. The neurotransmitters known to be responsible for these pleasure points are endorphins and phenylethylamine which together causes the release of chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin.  These chemicals are also known to be present in drugs such as amphetamines and cause hallucinogenic effect in the body, somewhat similar effect to when we fall in love. These chemical are also present in Chocolates therefore presenting the same chemical processes taking place when in love, or when taking drugs. Being in love and eating chocolate, both give you a feeling of stimulations due to release of these chemicals. For that reason many compare, eating chocolate to having sex because both actually follow the same chemical pathway to provide us with exciting high feelings that nothing else compares to.
